FAQs

Who can participate in Paladin Fitness events?

Paladin Fitness welcomes individuals of all fitness levels aged 16 and above. Events are designed to be inclusive, with divisions to suit everyone.

What does a Paladin Fitness Race entail?

Participants engage in a series of running segments interspersed with functional workout stations. These stations test speed, endurance, strength, and resilience through exercises such as the Concept 2 SkiErg, plate thrusters, walking lunges and more. See the race format for more details.

Are there cut-off times for completing the course?

Most Paladin events do not enforce strict cut-offs, but Race Control may intervene if an athlete is significantly behind for safety or event-flow reasons.

How can I register for an event?

Registration is straightforward and can be completed online via the Paladin Fitness website. Simply select your desired event, choose the appropriate division, and follow the instructions to complete your booking. Upon successful registration, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your event details.

What if I didn’t receive my confirmation email?

Check your spam and promotions folders. If you still can’t find it, contact us and we’ll resend your registration details.

What divisions are available, and which one should I choose?

Paladin Fitness offers multiple divisions to cater to different fitness levels:

  • Solo: Ideal for individuals seeking to challenge themselves independently.
  • Doubles: Perfect for pairs who want to tackle the race together, sharing the workload of the exercises. This can be done as Female, Male or Mixed
What age group do I sign up for?
  • Solo according to the athlete’s age on the date of the event.
  • Doubles – age group is determined by the average age of both athletes. Example: If athletes are 33 and 38, then the average age on race day is 35.5 years old. Your team enters into the 30-39 age category.
    • 33 + 38 = 71 → 71/2 = 35.5
What time should I arrive on race day?

We recommend arriving 60-90 minutes before your scheduled start time so you have enough time to check in, warm up, store your belongings and enter your start wave.

Is there a race–day schedule or wave start times?

Yes. Start waves run by division (Solo / Doubles). Your exact start time will be sent out during race week.

Will there be a bag drop?

Yes, we provide a secure bag-drop area for athletes. Ask at registration check-in.

What should I bring on race day?

Athletic clothing, hydration, running shoes, and any approved protective gear. We recommend bringing a towel and a change of clothes.

How should I train for a Paladin Fitness race?

A balanced training plan is recommended — combining strength training, functional movements, cardiovascular work, and running. Functional training facilities (e.g. Fitstop, F45, CrossFit) can be useful. Paladin Fitness also offers workout resources  to aid your preparation.

Are there age group categories in Paladin Fitness events?

Yes, Paladin Fitness events feature age group categories to ensure fair competition and camaraderie among participants. Specific age group breakdowns can be found in the event details for each race.

How is race timing managed?

All participants receive a timing chip to wear during the race, ensuring accurate tracking of overall race time and individual segment times.

Where can I find my race results after the event?

Race results will be available here. Participants will also receive an email with information on how to access their individual results and performance breakdowns.

Can I volunteer at Paladin Fitness events?

Yes — volunteers are welcome and play a key role. Interested people can apply via the volunteer information page for the event they want to help with. The 2026 Volunteer page will be ready soon.

Can I wear lifting straps or gloves?

Lifting straps or any equipment that may aid performance are not allowed. The only exception is gloves — but only as protection for your hands.

What are the rules on headphones or music during the race?

For safety and judging clarity, headphones are not permitted.

Is outside assistance allowed?

No. Only designated judges may assist athletes. Teammates in doubles may support each other within the rules, but spectators cannot enter the course.

Do you have judges on the day?

Yes, we provide event judges and marshalls to ensure all athletes are following movement standards and understand the flow of the event. It is the athletes’ responsibility to complete correct repetitions of each movement. Athletes who are performing movements incorrectly will be asked to stop and place weight on the ground.

Your zone judge will then demonstrate the expected movement standards.

For athletes with mobility issues, please advise the registration team at check-in on race day and a red race number may be issued to indicate modified requirements.

Can I transfer my ticket to another athlete?

Yes. Transfers are allowed and subject to transfer terms and conditions if you can no longer participate. The transfer must be completed by the event cut-off date and transfer fees may apply. Contact via admin@paladinfitness.com.au

Can I transfer my registration to a different event?

If you can’t make it to your registered event, you may be able to transfer your entry to a future Paladin Fitness event, subject to availability. Transfers must be requested before the transfer deadline as per the transfer terms and conditions, and a transfer fee may apply. Contact admin@paladinfitness.com.au

Can I sell my ticket to someone else?

How does the doubles division work?

In the doubles format, two athletes compete as a team, completing the full course together while splitting the workout stations. The first and last 800m run must be completed together, while the runs between zones are split into 400m each. When performing the Zones, athletes are allowed to share reps as they please, providing the total number of reps are completed.

When and where is the awards presentation?
